How Your Payment Is Processed

From the checkout button to your bank statement

DAILY VITA LABS is the registered trading name of URBAN CLOTHING PTY LTD (ABN 78 671 782 111) and is the seller of record for every order placed at dailyvitalabs.com. We do not build or operate our own payment infrastructure — instead, every transaction runs through Shopify's regulated payment gateway and the card networks or wallet providers listed above.

01

You choose a payment method

At checkout, you select from the payment methods available for your delivery destination and device. Prices, applicable shipping charges and any taxes collected at checkout are displayed before you confirm payment.

02

Your details go straight to the processor

Card numbers and wallet credentials are entered directly into Shopify's encrypted checkout fields or your device's digital wallet (Apple Pay, Google Pay). These details are transmitted straight to the payment processor and card network — DAILY VITA LABS never receives or stores your full card number, CVV or wallet credentials on our own systems.

03

Authorisation & verification

The payment processor authorises the transaction with your card issuer or wallet provider, applying additional verification (such as 3D Secure or biometric confirmation) where the issuer or destination-market rules require it.

04

Order confirmation

Once payment is approved, you receive an order confirmation by email. We retain only the transaction reference, the last four digits of the card (where provided by the processor) and the order total — never the full card number.

Encryption & PCI DSS Compliance

How your card and personal data are protected in transit

Every page on dailyvitalabs.com, including checkout, is served over HTTPS using industry-standard SSL/TLS encryption. This scrambles the data travelling between your browser and our servers so it cannot be read if intercepted.

SSL/TLS Encryption
All traffic to dailyvitalabs.com, including checkout, runs over HTTPS with TLS encryption. Look for the padlock icon in your browser's address bar before entering any payment details.
PCI DSS Compliance
Card payments are processed by Shopify's payment infrastructure, which is validated as a PCI DSS Level 1 Service Provider — the highest tier of the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard. This standard governs how card data is transmitted, processed and secured across the entire payment chain.
No Local Card Storage
DAILY VITA LABS does not store full card numbers, CVV codes or PINs on our own servers or in any DAILY VITA LABS-controlled database, at any time.
Tokenisation
Where a card is saved for a returning customer's convenience, it is stored by the payment processor as an encrypted, non-reversible token, never as a readable card number.
3D Secure Verification
Where required by your card issuer or destination-market rules (including UK/EU Strong Customer Authentication requirements), an additional 3D Secure verification step — such as a one-time code or banking-app confirmation — may apply before a payment is approved.
Platform
Checkout, payment processing and order data storage run on Shopify's global infrastructure, which undergoes independent, regular security USDits as part of its PCI DSS certification.
FrUSD Detection & Prevention

Automated screening on every order, before it ships

Every transaction placed on dailyvitalabs.com is automatically screened using the frUSD-analysis tools built into Shopify's checkout, alongside the frUSD and dispute controls run by the card networks and wallet providers themselves.

Automated risk scoring

Each order receives a frUSD-risk assessment based on signals including billing/shipping mismatches, unusual order velocity, IP location and device fingerprinting.

Manual review of flagged orders

Orders flagged as medium or high risk are held for manual review by our support team before dispatch, and we may contact you directly to confirm details before an order proceeds.

Address verification (AVS)

Where supported by your card issuer, the billing address you enter is checked against the address on file with your bank as an additional layer of protection.

Card-verification value (CVV)

The 3- or 4-digit security code on your card is required for most card payments and is verified with your issuer but never stored after the transaction is processed.

Account access monitoring

Repeated failed login attempts, password-reset abuse and suspicious sign-in patterns on customer accounts are automatically flagged and may result in a temporary account lock.

Report suspected frUSD

If you believe your card or account has been used without authorisation on our store, contact support@dailyvitalabs.com or +61 479 095 200 immediately.

Account & Password Security

Keeping your customer account secure

If you create a customer account with DAILY VITA LABS, your login credentials are managed through Shopify's customer-account system, which enforces the following requirements to help keep your account and any saved payment tokens safe.

Minimum password strength

Account passwords must meet a minimum length and complexity requirement set by Shopify's platform-level security rules at the time you create your account.

Encrypted password storage

Passwords are never stored in plain text. They are stored using industry-standard one-way hashing, meaning DAILY VITA LABS staff cannot see or recover your actual password.

Secure password reset

Forgotten passwords are reset through a time-limited, single-use email link — we will never ask you for your password by phone, email or live chat.

Your own good practice

We recommend a unique password not reused from another site, avoiding public or shared devices for checkout, and signing out of your account on shared computers.

Data Breach Notification Procedures

If something ever goes wrong, here's what happens

No system is completely immune to risk, so we maintain a clear response process in the unlikely event that personal or payment-related data connected to your DAILY VITA LABS order is compromised.

01

Detection & containment

Any suspected security incident affecting our store or Shopify's underlying platform is investigated immediately, and access is restricted or suspended where necessary to contain the issue.

02

Assessment

We assess what data was affected, how many customers are involved, and the likely risk of harm — including whether card data (which we do not directly store) or personal details such as name, address or email were exposed.

03

Notification to affected customers

Where a breach is likely to result in serious harm, we will notify affected customers directly by email without undue delay, explaining what happened, what data was involved and what steps to take.

04

Regulator notification

Where required by law, we will notify the relevant regulator in the applicable jurisdiction — including the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme, and equivalent authorities in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada or New Zealand where a breach affects customers in those markets.

Payment & Data Rules, By Country

The specific payment and privacy laws that apply to you

These protections apply automatically under law depending on where you are shopping from, alongside our own Privacy Policy, Terms of Service and Refund Policy. The summaries below are for general information and are not a substitute for independent legal advice.

Privacy Act 1988 & ePayments Code

Personal and payment-related information you provide is handled under the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). Where the voluntary ePayments Code applies through our payment processor, it governs liability for unauthorised electronic transactions.

Notifiable Data Breaches Scheme

If a data breach is likely to result in serious harm to you, we are required to notify both you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.

Australian Consumer Law

Pricing shown at checkout must be accurate and not misleading under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a refund, repair or replacement for a faulty product regardless of the payment method used.

Chargeback rights

Where an order is not delivered, is significantly not as described, or was charged without authorisation, Australian cardholders may raise a chargeback directly with their card-issuing bank in addition to contacting us.

Queensland-specific: as a business registered and headquartered in Queensland, complaints that cannot be resolved with us directly may also be raised with the Queensland Office of Fair Trading or, for matters of national scope, the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC).

FTC Act & Fair Credit Billing Act

Our checkout pricing and payment practices are prepared to comply with the FTC Act's prohibition on unfair or deceptive practices. Where you pay by credit card, the Fair Credit Billing Act gives you the right to dispute an incorrect or unauthorised charge with your card issuer.

Electronic Fund Transfer Act (Reg E)

Where you pay by debit card, the Electronic Fund Transfer Act and Regulation E limit your liability for an unauthorised transaction if reported promptly to your bank.

Mail, Internet or Telephone Order Rule

Under the FTC's Mail, Internet, or Telephone Order Merchandise Rule, we only charge your payment method when we have a reasonable basis to believe we can ship within the stated timeframe.

State Privacy & Breach Notification Laws

Where the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) or another state privacy law applies, you may have rights to access, delete or opt out of certain data uses. Most US states also have their own data breach notification laws requiring prompt notice to affected residents.

State-specific: chargeback timeframes, unauthorised-transaction liability limits and breach-notification deadlines can vary by state. This general summary does not cover every individual state statute; your card issuer's cardholder agreement governs the specific dispute process for your card.

Payment Services Regulations & Strong Customer Authentication

Card and wallet payments made from the UK are subject to Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) requirements under the Payment Services Regulations, meaning an additional identity-verification step (such as 3D Secure) may be required by your bank before a payment completes.

Consumer Credit Act — Section 75

For qualifying credit card purchases between £100 and £30,000, Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974 gives you an equal right of claim against your card issuer if goods are faulty or not as described.

UK GDPR & Data Protection Act 2018

Personal and payment-related data collected from UK customers is handled in accordance with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, including notification obligations to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) for a qualifying breach.

Consumer Rights Act 2015

Regardless of your payment method, goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described, with a short-term right to reject faulty goods within 30 days of delivery.

Region-specific: these payment and consumer protections apply consistently across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Unresolved payment disputes may also be referred to the Financial Ombudsman Service where the complaint concerns your card issuer or payment provider.

PIPEDA

Personal and payment-related information collected from Canadian customers is handled under the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), including mandatory breach-reporting obligations to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada for a breach posing a real risk of significant harm.

Provincial Consumer Protection

Provincial legislation, such as Ontario's Consumer Protection Act, 2002, sets out disclosure requirements for online payments and remedies where goods are undelivered or misrepresented, alongside our own Refund Policy.

Credit Card & Debit Card Chargeback Rights

Canadian cardholders can dispute an unauthorised, undelivered or significantly misrepresented purchase directly with their card-issuing bank, in addition to contacting our support team.

Competition Act

Pricing and payment-related representations shown at checkout are prepared to comply with the misleading-advertising provisions of the federal Competition Act.

Quebec-specific: customers in Quebec have additional protections under the Consumer Protection Act (Quebec), and payment-related communications and receipts supplied into Quebec are reviewed for compliance with the Charter of the French Language where required.

Privacy Act 2020

Personal information belonging to New Zealand customers, including payment-related metadata (not full card numbers), is handled in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020 and its Information Privacy Principles, including mandatory notification to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner for a notifiable breach.

Fair Trading Act 1986

Pricing, currency and payment information displayed at checkout is prepared to be accurate and not misleading, in line with the Fair Trading Act 1986, enforced by the Commerce Commission.

Consumer Guarantees Act 1993

Products must be of acceptable quality and match their description regardless of the payment method used; where a product fails to meet a guarantee, you're entitled to a repair, replacement or refund.

Cross-Border Payment Disclosure

As an overseas-based online retailer selling into New Zealand, we clearly disclose that displayed prices may not include New Zealand GST or import charges applied on entry, and any currency conversion is performed by your card issuer or payment provider at their applicable exchange rate.

Unresolved payment or data matters may be referred to the New Zealand Commerce Commission, Consumer Protection (part of the Ministry of Business, Innovation & Employment), or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner as applicable.
Chargebacks & Payment Disputes

If a charge looks wrong, talk to us first

Most payment concerns — a duplicate charge, an order that hasn't arrived, or an item that doesn't match its description — can be resolved faster and more simply by contacting DAILY VITA LABS directly than by starting a formal chargeback with your bank.

01

Contact us first

Email support@dailyvitalabs.com or call +61 479 095 200 with your order number. Most disputes are resolved within our stated response window.

02

Formal chargeback

If a charge is unauthorised or a resolution cannot be reached with us, you may lodge a formal chargeback directly with your card-issuing bank or payment provider under their own dispute process and timeframes.

03

Evidence & response

Where a chargeback is filed, we respond with order, delivery and communication records through Shopify's payment-dispute process. This does not affect your right to also request a refund directly from us at any time.

Currency, Pricing & Payment Processors

What you're actually charged, and who you're charged by

Product prices for the Ergonomic Memory Foam Seat Cushion, Car Seat Cover Towels and any future products are displayed in the currency shown at checkout for your selected country, including Australia, the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada and New Zealand. Any applicable shipping charge or checkout-collected tax is shown before you pay — nothing is added after payment is confirmed.

Shopify Payments & Card Networks

Card transactions (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, UnionPay, JCB) are processed through Shopify's payment infrastructure and the relevant card network's own security and dispute rules.

Currency conversion, where applicable, is performed by your card issuer at their own exchange rate and may include a foreign-transaction fee set by your bank, not by DAILY VITA LABS.

PayPal

Selecting PayPal at checkout redirects you to PayPal's own secure environment to log in and confirm payment. PayPal's own privacy and buyer-protection terms apply to that step of the transaction.

Apple Pay & Google Pay

These wallets use the card already stored securely on your device and authenticate the payment using your device's own biometric or passcode security — DAILY VITA LABS never sees the underlying card number, only a device-specific payment token.

Shop Pay

Shop Pay is Shopify's own accelerated checkout wallet. Saved card details are tokenised and stored by Shopify, not by DAILY VITA LABS, and can be managed or removed at any time through your Shop account.

Full detail on what personal data each of the above processors collects and how it is used is set out in our Privacy Policy, alongside the respective processor's own published privacy terms.
